LCBC Announces Partnership with Parker Hill Church

During the weekend of November 21/22/23, our church family learned about an exciting opportunity we have to impact more of the state of Pennsylvania in our mission through our strategic partnership with Parker Hill Church. To learn more about this partnership, watch David’s message in the video below and explore the FAQs.

Who is Parker Hill Church?

Parker Hill Church is a 1,900 person multi-site church located in Northeastern Pennsylvania that exists to help people find the way back to God. They meet in three campuses located in Clarks Summit, Dickson City, and Wilkes-Barre and also broadcast their weekend gathering online.

How did LCBC and Parker Hill get connected?

LCBC has had a long relationship with Parker Hill, beginning in 2005 when we were visiting churches across the country who were doing multi-site churches. And over the past 15 years, our leadership and staff have continued to build on that relationship as we work closely with Parker Hill and their staff. In fact, for the last 10 years, Parker Hill’s Lead Pastor, Mark Stuenzi, has met with David Ashcraft and other leaders at LCBC on a regular basis for mutual encouragement and prayer. We are very excited about continuing to build on this deep relationship by partnering in a new way to further impact our state together.

What are the specifics of the strategic partnership?

There is no legal agreement or financial compensation involved in this strategic partnership. The goal of this strategic partnership is to collaborate and share resources and best practices with Parker Hill so that together we can more effectively and efficiently reach our state and introduce more people to Jesus.

Will this strategic partnership lead to a merger between LCBC and Parker Hill?

LCBC’s Leadership Team and Parker Hill’s Oversight Team have both spent many hours discussing, evaluating, and praying about the possibility of an eventual merger where Parker Hill joins LCBC. Both leadership teams believe that the best way for Parker Hill Church to continue impacting Northeastern PA is by joining with LCBC. We believe the strategic partnership provides a great opportunity to begin working more closely together and we pray that God will either confirm this direction or close that door. Sometime in 2021, if both churches continue to believe that a merger is our best path forward, we will begin a series of conversations with both churches about the details. Ultimately a merger would only be pursued with the affirmation of both LCBC’s partners and Parker Hill’s members.
